Short answer For most visitors, the best Universal Studios Los Angeles ticket is the plain one-day ticket, from €89 on GetYourGuide. It already includes the Studio Tour, which Universal says runs about 60 minutes. Pay more only for a clear reason: the VIP Experience (from €320) for a guided backlot visit and no ride queues, or Halloween Horror Nights for the scare event. Universal also sells its own tickets, so compare its price for your date before you book.

Universal Studios Hollywood tickets: the options side by side

The one-day ticket is the right choice for most people, and the other four add something on top of it. The table above shows each option's price, duration and cancellation line as GetYourGuide showed it on 22 October 2026.

  • One-day ticket (from €89): the park, its rides and shows and the Studio Tour, on one date. Parking and food are extra.
  • VIP Experience (from €320): a guided backlot tour with walk-through sets, unlimited Express, lunch and valet parking.
  • Halloween Horror Nights (from €79): the evening scare event only. It is not a day ticket.
  • Universal plus bus tour (from €143): a day ticket with a return shuttle and an optional Hollywood bus tour.
  • All-Inclusive Pass Plus (from €217): Universal plus many other sights over 2 to 7 days.

Which Universal Hollywood ticket fits you

Pick the plain day ticket unless one of the cases below fits you. Each upgrade solves one problem, so pay only for the problem you have.

  • You hate queues: add Universal Express to the day ticket, or book the VIP Experience.
  • You love film sets: the VIP Experience lets you step off the trolley and walk through sets.
  • You are here in September or October and like horror: Halloween Horror Nights is a separate night out.
  • You have no car and stay in Hollywood: the bus-tour package includes a return shuttle.
  • You want to see a lot in a few days: a pass may cost less than single tickets.

What general admission includes, and the studio tour at Universal Hollywood

General admission covers the theme park, its rides and shows, and the World-Famous Studio Tour. Universal's own page says the Studio Tour is included with park admission. The GetYourGuide ticket also lists the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Minions ride.

The tour of Universal Studios Hollywood: what you see

The Studio Tour is a tram ride through the backlot of a working film studio. Universal gives its run time as about 60 minutes. On the way you pass real sets, plus staged effects such as a flash flood, an earthquake scene and a King Kong 360 show. You stay on the tram on the standard tour.

Universal Studios Hollywood Express Pass and the VIP Experience

Universal Express lets you use shorter lines, and the VIP Experience adds a guided day on top of it. On GetYourGuide you can add Express as an option to the day ticket. We could not read Universal's own Express prices, so check them for your date.

The VIP Experience is the top-end day. Universal says the tour lasts at least 5 hours, with up to 13 guests per guide. Your VIP pass gives unlimited Express on every ride and seated show all day, even after the tour ends. It also includes a meal in a private dining room and valet parking. Children must be at least 5 years old.

Halloween Horror Nights: a separate ticket

Halloween Horror Nights is not included in a day ticket. Universal calls it a separately ticketed event. In 2026 it runs on select nights from 3 September to 1 November, with 8 haunted houses and the Terror Tram. The GetYourGuide ticket is not suitable for children under 13.

Combine Universal with other sights: pass or bus-tour package

A combo makes sense only if you would book the extra sights anyway. The All-Inclusive Pass Plus covers Universal plus the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, a Big Bus celebrity homes tour and many more, over 2 to 7 days. It is non-refundable on GetYourGuide, so book it only when your dates are fixed.

The bus-tour package is simpler. It adds a free return shuttle and, if you choose, an open-air celebrity homes tour or a 24-hour hop-on hop-off ticket. It starts at 1738 N Orange Dr in Hollywood.

Is Universal Studios Hollywood worth it? One day or two

Yes, for film fans and families who will use the whole day. The Studio Tour sets it apart from other theme parks, because it runs through a working studio. It is less worth it if you only want thrill rides, or if you arrive late and fight the queues.

One day is enough for most visitors if they start early. We could not read Universal's own two-day ticket terms, so we do not compare them here. The bus-tour package on GetYourGuide is valid for 2 days.

Universal Los Angeles discount tickets: buy direct or through GetYourGuide?

Universal sells its own tickets on its website, and GetYourGuide resells them. The GetYourGuide day ticket is sold by GetYourGuide itself, not by Universal. Its booking page shows free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. We could not read Universal's own refund rules, so check them before you choose.

For Universal Studios Hollywood discount tickets, compare prices on your date. Universal's own Halloween Horror Nights page says you can save up to $40 on select nights when you buy online. A CityPASS with Universal plus three more sights starts at $157 for adults, on its own site.

Plan your day: parking, Universal CityWalk Hollywood and the map

Parking costs extra, because the day ticket does not include it. Universal lists general parking at $40 before 5 pm. A Metro footbridge links the Universal City station to the park, so the train is an easy option.

Universal CityWalk Hollywood is the street of shops, restaurants and a cinema next to the park. Start the Studio Tour early in the day, then plan the rides around it. Our universal studios hollywood map guide covers the lower and upper lots for a do-it-yourself day.

How to get more from your Universal day

  1. Check Universal's price first

Universal sells its own tickets. Compare its price for your date with the GetYourGuide price before you book.

  2. Do the Studio Tour early

The tram tour takes about an hour. Do it before the afternoon crowd, then move on to the rides.

  3. Pay for Express only if you need it

Express shortens lines, but it adds cost. It pays off on busy days, not on quiet ones.

  4. Read the cancellation line

Most picks show free cancellation on their booking page, but the pass is non-refundable. Check the exact cut-off there.

  5. Budget for parking

General parking is $40 before 5 pm, says Universal. The Metro to Universal City avoids it.
