Reading the site

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes the technical data every web request carries, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages. Apart from Google Analytics, described below, our own pages set no cookies. Whether Google Analytics runs depends on where you are visiting from and, in Europe, on your consent. Two more things on the site involve other companies: the GetYourGuide tour widget and links to booking platforms, both described below.

Where you are visiting from

When a page loads, it checks whether you are visiting from the European Economic Area (the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), the United Kingdom or Switzerland. For this, Vercel derives your country from your IP address, and the page only learns whether it has to ask for your consent. We do not keep your country or your IP address from this check. If your country cannot be determined, the page treats you as visiting from one of these countries. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in asking for consent where the law requires it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, so we can see which pages help people find what they need.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site shows a consent bar and loads Google Analytics only if you choose “Accept”. If you choose “Reject”, or choose nothing, no analytics request is made. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG.

If you visit from anywhere else, Google Analytics loads when you open a page, without a consent bar. You can turn it off at any time: open “Cookie settings” in the footer and choose “Reject”. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful to visitors.

Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage, so the bar does not ask again; this is needed to respect your choice. Name of the stored choice: ttdla-consent. Tour widget from GetYourGuide

Some pages show a widget with current tours and prices from GetYourGuide. It loads from GetYourGuide's servers when it scrolls into view, without asking for consent first. Your browser then sends GetYourGuide the technical data every web request carries, such as your IP address and the page you are on, and GetYourGuide may set its own cookies or similar identifiers. GetYourGuide decides how it uses that data; its privacy policy is on getyourguide.com. We use the widget to show tours you can book with live prices. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in showing current offers.

Links to booking platforms

Links to tours and hotels lead to GetYourGuide and Booking.com. When you click one, your browser tells the platform which page you came from, as with any link; we send nothing else. If you book, the platform may use this to pay us a commission (see our affiliate disclosure). What happens on the platform is covered by its own privacy policy.
